Founder support
Build better healthtech companies
I help founders turn clinical insight into products people use, systems buy and investors understand.
Who this is for
- Clinician founders exploring entrepreneurship for the first time
- Early-stage medtech and healthtech founders at idea, validation or MVP stage
- Founder programmes and accelerators supporting clinical entrepreneurs
- Teams needing clearer validation, business model or market access thinking
Common founder problems
Strong insight, unclear model
You know the problem deeply, but who pays, from which budget, and why now is still fuzzy.
Building before validating
Building feels like progress. Validation feels like delay. It’s usually the other way round.
Buyer and user confused
The clinician loves it; the organisation has to buy it. In healthcare they’re rarely the same person.
Evidence not decision-ready
The evidence story isn’t yet shaped for the investor or system decision it needs to unlock.
How I help
Practically and honestly: clarifying the problem, the user and the value proposition; testing assumptions before you build; making business models and routes to market make sense; framing evidence for the investor or health system decision it needs to unlock; and running workshops for cohorts of founders.
Most structured support runs through MedTech Mentor, the platform I co-founded for early-stage medtech founders: a free starter pack, a practical course, and 1:1 and group mentoring. Alongside it I mentor clinical entrepreneurs through the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, where I’m Business & Commercial Lead.
Why founders listen
I have sat on every side of the table: doctor, startup operator who built a commercial function from scratch, healthtech leader delivering at national scale, and mentor to hundreds of clinical entrepreneurs. Fewer frameworks for their own sake, more judgement about what actually moves an early-stage company forward.
